These are the horses that we saved, but have sadly passed on.
Arap was a rare 'Nonius' breed and large sums of money could be made by breeding them . This poor fellow was bred and bred and as he got older his health deteriorated. Like Gliser, he was sold to the meat man but we stepped in and got him to give him a chance. He had a good few weeks of being fussed, loved & fed but sadly he was too poorly and the decision was made to have him humanely put to sleep.
Norma II was a thoroughbred who won some smaller races in Serbia. She was used for breeding at every opportunity. Sadly most of her foals were not good enough and soon ended their racing careers at the slaughterer house. It was only a matter of time before she did. So, when she was being auctioned off, we saved her.
Sadly Norma passed away 18/10/2015 after a very short retirement. At least she knew love & freedom in that short period. RIP Norma
